AGA NEEDS ALL HER STAMINA FOR EIGHT HOURS IN THE POKER SPOTLIGHT AT WORLD FAMOUS POKER TOURNAMENT IN IRELAND
NEXT SHE TAKES ON WORLD’S TOP SPORTS STARS AT POKER CHALLENGE IN LONDON

Top television presenter and boxing champion Agnieszka Rylik’s mission to become the first Pole to make a major impact on the world of poker took her to Galway in Ireland for the PartyPoker.com Irish Poker Championship – a tournament featuring 298 runners and a chance to win a share of over 500,000 euros. Aga proved that her success at the Late Night Poker tournament in October last year, where she finished 12th in the world, was no luck as she again delivered knockout blows to the world’s top players.
Very quickly, Aga’s ability and presence meant she was on the table being televised on a national broadcaster in Ireland and internationally. There she was playing against the likes of Marcel Luske from Holland, Robert Williamson III from the USA, Padraig Parkinson from Ireland and Michael Keiner from Germany. All of them each win millions of dollars every year.

In early encounters Aga took plenty of chips off all these players and was leading the table for over two hours.

“These players wouldn’t stop staring at me when I was in a pot with them, “ said Aga. “They were desperately trying to get some information about what I may be holding from the expression on my face but you have to keep constant when they do this.”

This was a very different tournament to the Late Night Poker tournament. Where that tournament was about making moves, this tournament was all about stamina. Aga was at the table for nearly 8 hours and concentration was so important. Aga did so well and only needed to survive another 30 minutes but got involved in a huge pot with ‘King of Bluff’ Marcel Luske that took her from frontrunner to struggling to survive. There was a flush possibility on the board with an Ace of spades visible. Aga had a queen of spades but Luske had a king of spades – the only actual card that could have beaten her at that stage!

“I made a mistake here, they say the game takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master but it was a valuable lesson, “ said Aga. My boxing and physical training helped with keep me focused. I’m used to big work out routines but this was just as tiring!”

Aga was the only woman on the table and impressed all the world class stars. In the commentary box for the television famous commentator Jesse May was telling viewers about how Aga could not be underestimated as she had knocked out famous players the Devilfish and Joe Beevers in the Late Night Poker tournament.

Aga was invited by world leading and universally trusted online poker website PartyPoker.com to take part in the PartyPoker.com Irish Poker Championship 2008 at the Radisson Hotel & Spa, Galway,Ireland, from Jan 3 to Jan 6, 2008. This tournament will be broadcast to millions around the world and potentially in Poland too. At the tournament she got to meet again the man who trained her, world famous poker ambassador Mike Sexton, who was amongst the leaders at the end of day one but got knocked out within five minutes of day two!

As a result of another great performance from Aga she has been invited to a very special international tournament in February. She will take part in an international tournament in London that is exclusive to world sports stars only. This will include footballers, boxers, darts players and other sports tv personalities.

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: “We are delighted to invite Aga to London for our Sports Stars Challenge. There she will play against top stars from the world of sport. We are sure she will be one of the favourites to win!
